Local Movie Theaters Re-Open Friday

As Lake county moves to a new mitigation phase due to lower COVID-19 numbers, local movie theaters will re-open Friday.

The Century 16 Deer Park, owned by Cinemark Holdings, Inc., will re-open its Deer Park theater with staggered show times and limited capacity. AMC Hawthorn 12 in Vernon Hills and AMC South Barrington 24 in South Barrington will also re-open at reduced capacity. The Catlow in Barrington has not yet announced a re-opening of its theater, but will continue to stream movies.

Cinemark, which owns the Century Deer Park theater, has implemented new health and safety procedures to prevent spread of the COVID-19 virus.

All local theaters have implemented new health and safety procedures, including mandatory masks, new cleaning procedures and social distancing policies.

The Regal Lake Zurich movie theater, owned by Cineworld, has not announced plans to re-open.
